Do you have Voicemod installed but don't want to use it at the moment?
Follow these recommendations for when you don't want to use Voicemod.
Firstly, remember when Voicemod is installed, it is set as the default input device.
This will cause all programs that have the default Windows device as input will use the Voicemod microphone from now on, but if Voicemod is closed, these programs will have no audio input.
That's why we warn you with this message when you close Voicemod if you have it configured this way:
If you want to change this, go to the Sound Control Panel - Recording tab and set your microphone as the default input device.
Another option, if you don’t want to use Voicemod to transform your voice in your streaming/communication audio chat or game, you have to:
- Open the program.
- Go to Audio Settings (if it has).
- Set your real microphone as your input device.
- Set your headphones/headsets as your output device.
If your program doesn't have sound settings, then it uses the Windows default input device, so we recommend that you set your microphone as the default input device in Windows as shown above.
Secondly, also remember the following Voicemod settings are set enabled by default on the first installation:
This will cause Voicemod to open at every Windows startup and if you enable the "Start in system tray" option, it will open directly in the system tray, so if you don't remember this, you could have Voicemod open in the background modifying your voice.
In addition, remember as well if you have enabled the option "Minimize to the system tray on closing" Voicemod won't close completely even if you click on the X in the upper right corner, it will just stay in the background and continue modifying your voice if you have configured it that way.
Finally, remember if you have the "MIC EXCLUSIVE MODE" option enabled (NOT enabled by default) it will improve your response time but will cause your microphone to be unusable in any other application. It will be as muted.
