Does Voicemod on macOS stay on “Disconnected” or “Connecting”? Check the Mac audio devices and their channel format.
This can happen when a Voicemod virtual device is selected as the Mac’s system input or output, or when the chosen audio device has an incompatible channel format.
Before you start
Keep your physical microphone and headphones selected as Voicemod’s input and output devices. Do not select Voicemod’s virtual device as the Mac’s default system input or output.
Check the Mac’s default audio devices
- Open Apple menu → System Settings → Sound.
- Under Output, select your headphones or speakers instead of a Voicemod virtual device.
- Under Input, select your physical microphone instead of a Voicemod virtual device.
- Return to Voicemod and select or refresh your input and output devices again.
If the device has multiple channels
- Open Audio MIDI Setup using Spotlight Search.
- Select the audio device you want to use with Voicemod.
- If the device offers a compatible 2-channel (2-ch) format, select it. Alternatively, choose a different 2-channel device in Voicemod.
- Return to Voicemod, refresh or reselect the device, and check the audio status.
